Our Guarentee

Our general warranties are intended to ensure that the work we perform is free from defects and meet the absolute highest quality standards. They also identify most normal risk associated with customised installations that are alive, growing, and subject to a variety of external and environmental factors.

Proper care, periodic inspection and maintenance are the best courses of action to ensure a long-lasting and even more beautiful landscape over time.

 

Lawns

It is understood and agreed that the client/owner is responsible for proper watering and if the lawn is found in a dry state, the guarantee shall become null and void.

We do not warranty any seeded lawn or turf to be immune from moss, fungus, disease, or insect damage and will not re-spray for such damage, except at the customer’s expense.

This warranty is for a period of sixty days from installation. We need to be notified within that period for any warranty work to be acted upon. We cannot be responsible for neglect, abuse, acts of nature or situations beyond our control.

 

Seed

We guarantee a standard of grass that is uniform and consistent after complete seed germination on acceptable soils. We use only certified seed and we do not accept responsibility for any weeds that may occur in existing soil or topsoil. We will reseed or re-spray any areas that have not developed (method used shall be our option). Bare patches due to puddling, guttering, runoff from roads or driveways or damage from dogs, children, or equipment is not included.

 

Turf

We guarantee our turf will be from a certified supplier and we do not accept responsibility for any weeds that may occur in existing soil or topsoil, including AMG (Annual Meadow Grass). We will re-turf any areas that have not developed. Dieback due to puddling, guttering, runoff from roads or driveways or damage from dogs, children, or equipment is not included. We advise customers to avoid walking on newly laid turf for approximately 3-5 weeks.

 

Plants

We are unable to provide a guarantee for plants, but the nursery generally provides this.

 

Workmanship

All our work is installed according to the highest level of craftsmanship in the industry. Plantings, soil preparation and turf installation are done in a horticultural correct method. We will repair any workmanship related problems that you report to us within the first year after installation. Damage to our work is not covered. We are responsible for the correction of our immediate work only and not for the conditions that may have been caused. We are not responsible for the repairs to our work that is the result of settling.

 

Concrete/Masonry and Artificial Grass

Masonry provides a three-month warranty on all new brick and paving installation with a new concrete foundation.

Included in warranty:

Broken or cracked joints

Deteriorated joints

Loose stones or bricks

Concrete work (any crack wider than 1 inch) areas will be patched and repaired, not replaced

Not included in warranty:

Deterioration of joints or masonry surfaces due to over exposure from water, mould, fungus and fire

Use of any chemical to clear or remove ice or snow from surface

Partial or complete collapsing of the structure from any act of God, including hurricane, lightening, flood, fire, etc.

Cracking in masonry surfaces due to settling, shifting, abuse from new construction by location of new work

Collision (human or mechanical)

Improper use of structure (heavy machinery or large delivery trucks)

Concrete Work: Hairline cracks, spalling or slab shifting due to water, snow exposure and deice

 

Landscaping Materials

Manufactured products are covered under the warranty of the manufacturer or the supplier as applicable. Natural products are guaranteed to be defect-free at installation. Cracking of natural stone is beyond our control and is a characteristic of some natural materials. Labour is not included under warranty for the correction of defective material manufactured or supplied by others.

It is the client/owner’s responsibility for any paid materials that are on site.

 

Waste

It is the client’s responsibility to dispose of all waste, unless a skip has been requested.

 

Buried or Obscured Obstructions

We discuss with owner/client the location of all utilities presents on your property. We are not responsible for utilities that you have not specifically identified and accurately located for us.

 

Delays

Total Lawns will take all necessary precautions to avoid unnecessary delays with respect to your landscape project. The owner/client hereby acknowledge that we are not responsible for circumstances beyond our control. For example, severe weather, availability, or late delivery of products, strikes, and/or failure of other sub-contractors of the owner/client to complete other necessary work prior to project start.

 

Products Installed

The owner/client agrees that there may be a minor variation in colour between the colour samples advertised and the actual colour of the product installed due to production times or natural processes. If the contracted material design, pattern, colour, or size change at the request of the client and the products need to be reordered or returned, a restocking fee of 50% of the returned product will be charged.

 

Insurance

Total Lawns carries liability and property damage insurance along with coverage for all employees under workers compensation. We can provide a certificate of insurance upon request.

 

Termination of Contract

Total Lawns is guaranteed compensation for products ordered and services performed, up to the point of notification, if owner/client decides to cancel any scheduled works at any point of completion over the period of the works to be carried out.

 

Payment

Any deviation from the payment schedule can result in Total Lawns halting the construction project till payments are on track and up to date.

 

All warranties are void if payment on your account is not current.
